DROITWICH under-8s won the Nuneaton Festival on Sunday.

Spa clinched its second tournament in a fortnight by defeating Lutterworth in the final.

In Droitwich's opening game Droitwich edged Northampton Old Scouts 35-25, with tries for Ieuan Howells (3), Peter Bedborough and Matthew Sowden (2). In the second game Spa ran out 30-0 winners, with Jack Weston, Jamie Wall, Jack Richards, Sowden (2) and Bedborough scoring.

Spa lost 20-10 to Lutterworth but bounced back to get the better of Coalville 30-20 in the semi-final. Howells, Sowden, Jack Richards and Luke Wall (2) scoring.

Droitwich avenged defeat in the final by beating Lutterworth 30-20, with Bedborough (3), Weston, Richards and Sowden scoring tries. Chaddesley Corbett under-10s recorded an emphatic double over Redditch on Saturday.

In the first game Corbett ran out 45-0 winners, with Louis Ellesmore (2), Rob Llewellyn (2), John Cole, Zach Walker and Ross Westwood (4) scoring tries.

Chaddeseley were equally ruthless in the second half as they won 45-0, with Alex Lloyd (2), Jack Vaughan, Louis Ellesmore, Oliver Douglas, Lewellyn, Westwood (2) and Walker scored tries. Droitwich under-15s edged Broadstreet 10-7, with Harry Baillie scoring a try, which Bobby Scott-Walker converted. Scott-Walker's penalty made sure of victory.

Sam Davenport and Jacob Phillips were named men of the match for Droitwich.

Bromsgrove under-7s were involved in three high scoring matches against Silhillians over the weekend.

Bromsgrove won the first game 40-20, with Finley Evans (3), James Smalley, Charlie Marshall and Harry Brown touching down.

They were beaten 40-20 in the second match, despite tries for Williams Moss (2), Sam Lee and Elliott Powell.

In the third game Bromsgrove were edged 30-25, with Smalley (3) and Finley Evans (2) scoring.
