I THANK you for publishing our story, (Cotswold Journal, March 23) regards huge building application to CDC Planning at Cirencester.

In the story it looks as if I am just fighting for my son's B&B of course we are all selfish and yes, it is a serious worry, because this is their only income. However it's the whole concept of what is intended -

1 The huge scale, the actual gym which is backing on to their separating wall and the noise from those gym appliances. Although it is supposedly for Newlands' residents, they are already stating, usage by people in the area, possibly - no possibly about it - they told a lady at showing of plans last week they intended it eventually to be a leisure centre.

2 Traffic is already heavy - but they have said they are making £20,000 available to Highways etc. Why only now? Why not when they built first 15 houses??

3 When speaking to your reporter originally, I stated that one of the people applying for this said " We were very surprised you objected to our plans - I never knew Val Keyte had a big yellow streak down her back"! So after telling the reporter about this phone conversation, I told him that I was furious, I am not a coward (because personalities should not come into it) then I said "Nobody calls me that I will have their guts for garters", so really it was out of context, without the first part of the conversation with the applicants - also this is just about The Limes.

Really, I am generally worried that the huge building supplies, the dust and dirt which will be an obvious health hazard, we, all along Evesham Road, Fosse Lane etc will not be able to use our gardens to enjoy the next three seasons and indeed over the 18 months it will take to complete this huge development or have our windows open. This is in the name of Berkeley Health Care, but obviously its simply developers who want to ruin our town, and who will take their pot of gold and run.

VAL KEYTE, Fosse Lane, Stow.
