PHIL Jaques' inclusion in the Australia squad for their forthcoming two-Test series in Bangladesh will indirectly mean him missing Worcestershire's first six games of the season.

Although the second Test against Bangladesh is scheduled to finish on April 21, presuming the match lasts all five days, Jaques would have been able to arrive at New Road in time for the first Liverpool Victoria Championship game of the season at home to Somerset on April 26.

However, following Jaques' call-up to the Australia squad for the Boxing Day Test last year, he was subsequently in contention for his country's tours to South Africa and Bangladesh.

Because of that, he decided to re-arrange his wedding to keep himself available if required.

As a result, Jaques and his wife's 10-day honeymoon now coincides with the start of the English domestic season.

This setback for the County means Jaques will miss four Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy games -- against Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Scotland and Leicestershire.

The Aussie opening batsman will also miss the Championship games against Somerset and Derbyshire.

Jaques is due to arrive on May 16 and will go into the squad to take on Surrey at The Oval in the Championship game which gets under way on May 17.

Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said: "The club have been in discussions with Phil throughout this process. We understand and are happy with the situation."

Jaques has been drafted into the Australian Test squad to play Bangladesh because Justin Langer is suffering from concussion after being hit on the head by Makhaya Ntini in the series with South Africa which has just finished.

The left-hander, who played one Test against South Africa in December, will have a fight on his hands for another Test opportunity.

Australia also have the option of promoting Mike Hussey to open in Langer's place and playing Michael Clarke in the middle order.
