JOB hunting Wyre Forest parents are being offered help while their children are held spellbound by a magical wizard at an event next week.

The fun day, being held at Stourport Library, has been specially arranged to give adults advice on finding employment.

Staff from Kidderminster Jobcentre will be on hand to answer questions from 10am on Tuesday at the Worcester Street site.

Youngsters have been invited to dress up as their favourite book characters, including Harry Potter and his Hogwarts pals, to get into the spirit of the occasion.

A magical wizard will perform tricks at 11am and 2pm, helped by his pet fire-breathing dragon, Desmond.

Wendy Wiggett, of Kiddermin-ster Jobcentre Plus, said: "This fun day should be helpful to parents thinking about starting or returning to work, as well as giving their children something interesting to do.

"Jobcentre Plus can help with applying for jobs, with training for people who need to brush up on skills or qualifications, offer support with childcare providers and assistance with travel and childcare costs."

Entrance to the event, which runs until 3pm, is free but tickets must be booked in advance. For information, contact Stourport Library on 01299 822866.
