Celebrity chef James Martin and Cash in the Attic star Alistair Appleton visited Eastnor Castle to film a new TV series called Stately Suppers.

The duo visit a different stately home in each episode and create contemporary recipes inspired by the building's historic associations.

The celebrity arrival caused quite a stir at Eastnor, even though the castle is used to entertaining celebrity guests.

Spokeswoman Sarah Bullock said: "It was really exciting to have them visit. It was great because they used all local produce for their cooking."

The menu created by the TV duo apparently contained a lot of game, such as pheasant and trout. The Eastnor episode will be shown on BBC2 on Thursday (April 13) at 3pm, the same day as the castle opens to the public for the Easter weekend.

The castle and grounds are open from 11am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm) until Monday, April 17, and then every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from Sunday, April 23, to Sunday, October 1. Daily opening is from Monday, July 17, to Thursday, August 31.

Admission to the castle and grounds is £7 adults, £6 senior citizens, £4 children, £18 family (two adults and three children). Entry to the grounds only is £3 adults, £2 senior citizens, £1 children.
