A REDDITCH factory worker whose occupation was said to be a slinger was summoned at Redditch Magistrates Court on Wednesday for depositing litter on the highway.
"What is a slinger?" aked Mrs H Houfton, the chairman of the bench.
"One who throws litter on the street madam," replied the clerk, Sir Theodore Pritchett.
No-one was able to correctly describe the man's duties.
He pleaded guilty by letter and was fined £1.
(A slinger is one who puts ropes round cases or other articles in order that they can be lifted by crane.)
