A TOP temp from Worcester has cracked open the bubbly after being recognised for his hard work at an awards ceremony.
Ken Fyfe, who currently works for construction designers and draftsmen Blue Print, was named Temp In A Million at an awards ceremony held by recruitment consultancy AC Selection where deputy Worcester mayor Coun Stephen Inman presented him with a bottle of champagne.
The evening was held to celebrate the sixth Recruitment and Employment Confederation temp workers week.
Mr Fyfe gave up full-time permanent employment some years ago after suffering a heart attack and said temporary work was not an option he had anticipated before.
"I have come to appreciate that temping offers different challenges and opportunities to utilise the experience gained in the earlier phases of my career," he said.
"The exposure to different businesses and systems provides the bonus of refreshing and uprating skills - a welcome chance for an old dog to learn new tricks!
"It was a complete surprise to be nominated at the AC awards evening."
