THE Timberhonger ten kilometre run is set to have even wider appeal in 2006 with a new children's race.
Now children under the age of 16-year-old can race over a two kilometre course alongside the main course on Sunday, July 2, at Sanders Park.
All competitors in the children's' race will receive special medals, while the winning boys and girls get a trophy and a voucher from Woolworths.
The main Timberhonger event, which starts and finishes at Sanders Park, takes competitors down Timberhonger Lane.
Adults who finish the course get a medal and a chance to win two lucky numbers prizes of a six months membership to David Lloyd Leisure Club.
Race director Mark Graham said: "I'm really looking forward to the new children's race this year. We had about 350 run last year and it would be great to see as many children this year."
Entry is £9 for the 10km run (£7 for athletic club members) and £3 for the children's challenge. Cheques must be made payable to Bromsgrove Carnival.
