The June meeting was held in Finstall village hall.
Jill Findon, president, welcomed 28 members and two visitors to the meeting on a hot summer day.
Jerusalem was sung, but before the business Jill had sad news of the sudden death of Janet Hodgetts - a member of 35 years. A few moments silence were held and a collection taken for the Lifeboat Society.
Mary Limmer read the minutes and told members of all the thanks from visiting WIs for the 69th birthday party when a wonderful singer, Margaret Peters, entertained us with her friend on piano.
Our birthday outing was to Hanbury Hall when we enjoyed tea at the hall after a tour of the house and garden.
Ann Parr distributed the gift of Taylors Tea. Our speaker, John Letts, is a sculptor.
He made a bust of a man while talking to us about his wonderful life.
He was commissioned to sculpt a bust of the Queen and many more famous people.
Orders for calendars and diaries were taken.
Our competition was for a favourite figurine and was won by Mary Limmer.
Next month our speaker will be Catherine Clark on my life's hats.
