Barnt Green 179-8
Droitwich 177-1
Droitwich won by nine wickets
TWO individual big hitting performances graced the derby clash between Barnt Green and Droitwich in this Worcestershire Sunday League clash.
Droitwich, who top the first XI table, were inspired to victory by Alex Kolb's 76, despite a mammoth 115 not out by Green opener Gareth Williams earlier in the day.
Droitwich won the toss and decided to bowl but were thwarted throughtout by openerWilliams, who was the only Green batsman to make an impact against the opposition bowlers.
Damon Gariff was the best of Droitwich's bowlers, taking 3-83, while Paul Bryan took two and Craig Hunt and Mike Wallis bagged one each.
Droitwich's reply with the bat got off to a good start as Martin Davies made 41 not out, while Kolb top scored with 76, before he was bowled out by Brownhill.
Despite rain reducing the number of overs Spa had to play with they still strode to victory.
Captain Paul Bryan (16) joined Davies at the crease to guide his side to 177-1 in 36 overs.
Droitwich take on Barnards Green at home this Sunday, June 25, while Barnt Green take on Swindon at home (both games 2pm start).
