Bromsgrove 183 all out Swindon 184-3

Bromsgrove lost by seven wickets

BROMSGROVE were shot down by Matt Perkins' century as they lost to Staffordshire side Swindon in the Worcestershire Sunday League.

The Boars had several fine performances with the bat but they were all outshined by Perkins' 104 not out, which steered Swindon to victory.

Bromsgrove won the toss and decided to bat first. Jordan Rose fell foul to A Davies (30-2) but Tom Hill (66) was a steadying influence in the batting order.

Hill had to stick around as Bromsgrove lost Tom Green (6) and Will Lake (1), before he was joined at the crease by Daniel Fisher (37).

Once duo were bowled out A Jones added 27 runs as Bromsgrove reached 183 in the 42nd over.

Perkins' hundred ensured victory for Swindon with 104 not out but Bromsgrove made sure the wickets tumbled around him.

The combination of Stephen Clarke's bowling and good fielding by Gregg Gibbin dismissed Todd Henderson (7) and Cooper (3).

Richard Hope (12) also had P Shaw caught by Gibbin, but it wasn't enough as Perkins guided Swindon to 184-3 in the 20th over. Bromsgrove play Barnards Green this Sunday (2pm start).
