REDDITCH swimmer Lucy Knibbs is heading to Sheffield this summer after qualifying for the National Age Group Championships.
The 12-year-old pupil at St Bede's Middle School secured the 50m and 200m breaststroke titles at the Worcester County Age Group Championships and then booked her place at Ponds Forge with another excellent performance at the Midlands championships at Coventry.
Knibbs, a member of Redditch Swimming Club since 2002, train nine times each week -- three of the sessions before school starts.
Redditch coach Barry Ferguson will also be heading to Sheffield and club chairman Graham Nice said: "The club are extremely proud of Lucy's achievement. Her dedication and hard work have produced this tremendous result".
