TENNIS: Inkberrow stormed into the top three of the Premier Division of the Prudden Road Surfacing Summer League thanks to back-to-back wins over neighbours Studley.
The latter had been challenging Stratford B for top spot earlier in the season but have now fallen away, a plight not helped by this disdappointing double defeat.
Graeme Rankin and Pete Watson were the Inkberrow stars as their team won both games 3-1, the pair winning all four of their rubbers, three of them in straight sets.
The wins moved Inkberrow to within two points of Shipston whose opponents Henley failed to field a side.
Stratford continued their domination with a 4-0 victory over mid-table Littleton while the final fixture saw lowly Claverdon and FISSC share the points in a 2-2 draw.
Aston Cantlow remain rooted to the foot of Division One after a string of dismal displays. They managed a 3-1 victory over FISSC B but still prop up the rest.
Bidford continued their amazing turnaround in form beating FISSC B 4-0, then Tanworth 4-0 and finally Littleton B 3-1. The results lift them up to fourth place behind top three Evesham, Campden and Stratford C.
Inkberrow B remain top of Division Two after beating Stratford D who slipped to fourth.
Basement side Studley B pulled off an excellent result to draw 2-2 with second-place Stratford E but HDA Reddicth suffered a 3-1 dfeat against Moreton. Pershore and Alcester drew 2-2 to remain in mid-table.
Rock bottom Bidford B drew 2-2 with Campden in Division Three while Alcester B stayed top of the Division Four table with a 4-0 victory over mid-table Harbury.
l Stratford A and B will come face-to-face in Saturday's Prudden Road Surfacing Charity Cup final. The game will be played at FISSC Tennis Club at 10.30am.
