FRANK Pickett put together a run of nine games undefeated to sweep aside the opposition in Kidderminster Chess Club's annual handicap tournament.
His score of 7.5 points enabled him to finish 1.5 points ahead of Dave Close and Jim Friar, who tied for second spot.

Every game was drawn when Kidderminster completed their Worcestershire League Second Division programme at home to Halesowen.
The line-up was (Kidderminster names first): Riley v John Llewelyn, John Varilone v Don Curry, Thomas v Maureen Clark, Durnell v Kevin Ryder, Terry Pountney v Tony Taylor.
