AFTER losing to their counterparts from the English Civil Service, the South Warwick-shire Association hit back to defeat Leices-ter City and District Parks and the North-ampton Vice-Presi-dent's Associations.

South Warwickshire led throughout at Strat-ford only for the visitors to win 122-108.

Len Wright, Keith Ogilvie, Alwyn Harris and Colin Haywood for-med the highest winning rink, while Colin Such and Bob Sherlock were the other winning skips.

Three days later, again the SWBA led throughout and this time managed to hang on despite a gallant late effort from Leicester at Birstall.

Roy Draper, John Mahoney, Geoff Cook and Ian Wilkins combined to record the best win with rinks skipper by Mick Meadows, Ken Dixon and Aubrey Bro-okhouse also victorious.

Northants led by a solitary shot after five ends but the SWBA took a slender lead that they led right until the finish.

They led by four after ten ends, three five ends later and finally ran out 119-113 winners after a closely-fought contest.

The highest winning rink comprised Ogilvie, Kelvin Rice, Ron Cam-pbell and Brian Fryer.

The other winning skips were Harvey Brereton and Bernard Kendry, while Gary Hicks led his four to a draw.
