TWO Wyre Forest groups will be battling it out against a host of other young musical talent from Worcestershire schools tomorrow.
A Battle of the Bands contest has been organised by Worcestershire County Council as part of the Voices and Visions Festival.
Heats have been held throughout the last two months and seven groups will take to the stage at the Stourbridge Rock Cafe.
Wolverley High School's entry is Serpion, a metal band made up of Ollie Bolland, Sean Davis, Adam Shipley, Mike Howse and Tom Woodhouse.
King Charles I School's group is The Backs, which is made up of 16-year-olds, Simon Arch, Richard Spalding and James Andrews, and Dan Arch, 17.
The group, formed in 2004, has joined Kidderminster College's independent label MAS Records and is also taking part in the Local Heroes project being run by the Shuttle/Times & News's owner, Newsquest Media Group, in conjunction with partners, Virtual Festivals.com, Bandwagon.co.uk, Roundpoint and Yamaha.
Music teacher at Wolverley High School, Fred Mallinson, said: "It is an excellent way to promote the talent of young musicians in this area. There are a lot of them about so it's a chance for people to hear them."
He added anyone was welcome to attend the event, which runs from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
