STOURPORT batsman Tom Gloster was in record-breaking form in their winning draw at Stourbridge in Division Three North of the Crusader Worcestershire County League.

Gloster hit a whopping 181, including 20 fours and five sixes, to set a new club best with the bat.

After electing to bat, Stourport posted a huge total of 292-8 following Gloster's contribution and good support from Rich Savery.

In reply the hosts were never in the hunt but with I Biddle making 55 and G Reynolds (45) Stourbridge held out to deny the visitors maximum points.

There were two wickets each for Matt Delo, Andy Goddard and John Downes as Stourbridge made 194-8.

Stourport under-13s lost by seven runs after only making 110-5 in reply to Avoncroft's 117-4. Matt Poole took 2-12, while Ben Taylor reached 19 not out for Stourport.

There was a five-wicket win for the under-11s at home to Droitwich. Josh Harrison boasted figures of 3-2 while Charlie Hopkirk claimed 3-11 as Droitwich were reduced to 89-9. And Sam Hayes was unbeaten on 30 as they eased to 90-5.

Bewdley

Bewdley are still top of the pile in Division One following a comfortable win over their Kington counterparts.

Ben Jones senior was the star performer with the bat as Bewdley posted an impressive total of 273-3.

Knocks of 38, 24 and 39 not out from David Meek, Richie Harris and Andy Robinson made up for skipper David Jones's disappointing 15.

The captain did take a wicket with his first ball - but it was the contribution of Mark Hudson (4-18) that ultimately put paid to Kington who reached just 104.

Cookley

Cookley seconds lost a tight encounter against Amblecote and Wollaston by just three runs at Lea Lane in Division Three North.

Amblecote batted first and only managed to amass 184-8 on what seemed to be a good batting track.

But Cookley lost wickets throughout the run chase, and despite contributions from Mark Hadley (41) and Martin Williams, they were dismissed for 181.
