I was appalled to read the attack on the headteacher of The Chase in the Malvern Gazette last week.

Mr Peck leads a very successful school that has recently received a very good Ofsted report. I think it should be commended that bad behaviour is not tolerated.

What the Gazette should be concentrating on is the provision of the Pupil Referral Units (PRU) in the county. It is proposed that members of the county council will conduct a scrutiny of PRU's in the near future. As shadow portfolio holder for children's services, I hope to be on the scrutiny panel and will keep the residents of Malvern informed of the result.

The senior schools in the area serve Malvern Hills very well and the children continue to achieve, thanks to the hard work of the staff and strong leadership of the headteachers.
