A PROPOSAL to ban parking on a section of School Lane in Upton is being opposed by the town council
The Highways Partnership suggested the ban after receiving a complaint about vehicles parked opposite the junction with Prices Lane, making it difficult for larger vehicles to turn.
It is is worried that drivers unable to turn would reverse back the entire length of Prices Lane, on to Gardens Walk, which would be dangerous.
Town councillor Mike Morgan said: "Should large vehicles be going down there anyway? This is an absolutely absurd idea."
