HIS music has stood the test of time for more than four decades and now Steve Gibbons is set to win over new fans when he comes to Worcester next week.

The Birmingham-born musician's tunes have been influenced by such genres as blues, country and even psychedelia over the years since he first came to prominence as frontman of The Uglys.

The band was at the forefront of Birmingham's burgeoning music scene but it was not long before he moved on to pastures new, forming the five-piece Steve Gibbons Band in the early 70s. The group enjoyed success in the singles charts with songs such as their number 12 hit Tulane, from August 1977 and built up a considerable following on the live circuit.

He is set to appear at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, June 29. Tickets are priced £11 (concessions £10), available by calling the box office on 01905 611427 or via the website at www.huntingdonarts.com
