WORCESTER City will look for a better outcome today as they lock horns with leaders Stafford Rangers for the second time in seven days.

Fourth-from-bottom City tackle in-form Boro at St George's Lane (3pm) hoping for a repeat of their impressive display on Boxing Day.

They surprised the Nationwide North form book by taking a point in the 1-1 draw with Stafford at Marston Road.

Despite the gap in league places, Worcester should have won that battle, but missed opportunities from leading goalscorer Adam Webster cost them dear.

City player-manager Andy Preece believes his side are capable of sneaking a victory with home advantage but admires Stafford's battling qualities that helped them beat fellow promotion chasers Northwich Victoria 2-0 on Saturday.

"If Stafford come to our place and play the same way, then surely at home we can do the same again," said Preece. "We showed we are capable of beating them.

"But it will be tough. Stafford don't let up. If things aren't going well for them, they still keep having a go."

Preece (calf strain) and centre-half Chris Smith (knee) are both big doubts after missing Saturday's 4-0 thumping at Hyde United, while teenage midfielder Sam Wedgbury is expected to start.
