ANDY Preece has won the Nationwide North manager of the month award for February -- but he must share it with a rival.

The Worcester City boss led his team to four league wins and two draws from seven matches in an action-packed month that enhanced the club's outside play-off prospects.

But top-of-the-table Stafford Rangers also claimed four victories in February, meaning their manager Phil Robinson -- the former Hereford United player -- shares the accolade.

Among the eye-catching results for City were a 1-0 win at Northwich Victoria and 0-0 draw at Nuneaton Borough.

Preece's men also triumphed 2-1 at Hucknall Town last weekend, alongside 2-0 home wins over Lancaster City and Leigh RMI earlier in the month.

The former Bury boss collected the same award in March 2005 after transforming City from relegation candidates to play-off hopefuls.

Last month's Conference award went to York City's Billy McEwan and Garry Hill took the Nationwide South honours at Weymouth.

Nationwide's Chris Hull said: "We would like to congratulate Billy, Philip, Andy and Garry on their achievements during February.

"All four managers will be presented with a magnum of champagne."
