DANNY Hodnett is expected to make a Worcester City return on Saturday after being recalled from Evesham.

The 19-year-old defender spent more than two months on loan at Common Road to gain first team experience.

With two Nationwide North games left -- including Saturday's home clash with Hyde -- player-manager Andy Preece is keen to give his younger squad members a run-out.

Hodnett, who played against Hyde in the 4-0 mauling on New Year's Eve, will be considered as older players such as Des Lyttle could be rested.

City's other fledglings, Troy Wood, Gary Walker and Dale Watkins, all selected on the subs bench in the 3-0 defeat at Droylsden, may also figure.

Cutting short Hodnett's loan stint has come as a slight disappointment to Evesham, who are fighting for survival in the Southern Premier League.

But Robins manager Paul West has been delighted with Hodnett and predicts a bright future for the former Kidderminster reserve player.

"Danny has been great for us," said West. "He's got a terrific attitude and he's a great lad to have in the dressing room. Obviously, I would have liked him to have stayed here a bit longer.

"But by the same token, Danny is a Worcester City player. Under the right guidance, he can make it at a good level and I'm sure he's got that in Andy Preece."
