CHAIRMAN Barry Norgrove has pinned his faith in under-pressure boss Stuart Watkiss ahead of another Aggborough test today.

Kidderminster Harriers face Morecambe (1pm) on the back of three straight home defeats to Forest Green Rovers (3-1), Halifax Town (1-0) and Tamworth (1-0).

But the Harriers manager has received the support of Norgrove and his board after stinging criticism from sections of the Harriers crowd.

Two losses in a row to teams at the bottom of the table, Crawley Town and Tamworth, have turned up the heat on Watkiss.

But though Norgrove wants a push for the top five, he is ready to be patient after a summer of upheaval that eventually saw his Aggborough Holdings group take control of the club.

He said: "It's far too early and we've got to give him a fair crack of the whip.

"He hasn't been in the job long and we haven't lost many games this season. I've got faith in him to turn it around.

"He's working very hard. He isn't a manager that fritters money away and he's determined to do his best with what he's got.

"It might be a case of us being halfway up the table for a lot of the season. Obviously, the play-offs are where we want to be and we need to give ourselves a chance of making it.

"If it looks like we've got a chance of doing it when the January transfer window opens we might be able to push it a little bit further."

Watkiss, meanwhile, admitted the team's tendency to perform on the road this season but disappoint at home has done him no favours.

He said: "It would appear we have a problem with playing at Aggborough with our best performances -- Crawley apart -- being reserved for away from home.

"But I can look anyone in the eye and believe I'm doing my best."
