KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' players will be urged to take their LDV Vans Trophy super show into the Nationwide Conference campaign tomorrow.

Boss Stuart Watkiss wants Harriers to pick up quick points to improve their dwindling league position which currently sees them just six places off basement side Forest Green Rovers.

Their terrific 3-0 win over a strong Boston United line-up on Wednesday arrived courtesy of two goals from Iyseden Christie and a single Michael Blackwood strike. But tomorrow's trip takes them to a buoyant Burton Albion side who knocked Boston's League Two rivals Peterborough United out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win last week.

Nigel Clough's mid-table team are unbeaten in six games, including five victories, while Harriers' success over Boston was their first in the same number of fixtures.

Boss Stuart Watkiss remains positive and said: "We are aware of where we are in the league. But do you look at the glass as if it's half-full or half-empty? We're very aware that we've got to start picking points up.

"But, with three points for a win, if you put a half-a-dozen game unbeaten spell together then you can shoot up the league so it's a crucial time of the season.

"Burton have improved of late and are now coming good so we know we will get a very difficult game there.

"They have climbed the table recently after a decent run and their confidence is high after knocking Peterborough out of the FA Cup, so it's another tough test for us. But if we can play like we have done then we've got to be optimistic we can get something."

Watkiss has been enthused by the energetic and skilful midfield displays put in by youngsters Simon Heslop, Russ Penn and Marc Pugh who are likely to keep their places.

He added: "The young lads in our squad have done excellently over the past couple of games and they won't be forced aside by any new arrivals.

"We had way too much energy in midfield for Boston to cope with and the young lads did excellently, as did everyone in the team."

Burton's former Harriers are unlikely to get much pitch time tomorrow but Andy Corbett may well have played his way into the team following an impressive impact from the bench in last weekend's 3-1 win over Crawley.

Corbett started off as a striker with Harriers but has impressed playing at right-back or in midfield for Burton.

Harriers' record signing Andy Ducros is also there but, similar to his time at Aggborough, the talented playmaker has been in and out of the side due to injury.
