MARTIN O'Connor has reached an agreement with Kidderminster Harriers over the termination of the remainder of his contract.

O'Connor, who joined the club as a player-coach from Shrewsbury Town last summer and acted as caretaker manager following the sacking of Stuart Watkiss in early December, has struggled to recover from a knee operation.

Current boss Mark Yates paid tribute to the former Birmingham City midfielder.

He said: "This is the best decision for both parties. Martin told me he would not be back to full fitness again this season so we both agreed that it was best for him to go.

"He did really well for the club, both as a player and when he was caretaker-manager, and he leaves here with the best wishes of everyone associated with the club."

O'Connor last appeared for the first team in Novemberwhen Harriers played Exeter City.

Meanwhile, Marc Pugh, the youngster who was on loan at Kidderminster from Burnley, has returned to the Championship side after failing to make the starting XI for the last two matches. He has decided to return to Turf Moor to see where he stands there.
