THIS performance had everything one could wish for in an evening's entertainment - drama, humour, passion, beautiful music and splendid dancing.

The Russian Ice Stars, who are all former competitors at national, European, world or Olympic level, took to the specially constructed ice rink at the theatre and turned this classic fairytale into a magical wonderland of choreography.

All of the dance movements perfectly fitted the music which had been specially written Italian composer Maestro Silva Amato.

An added dimension was the company's links with the Russian Circus which meant the audience also got to see acrobats and jugglers on the ice.

I must admit I thought the spinning plates must have been stuck to the pole but was proved wrong when the skater proceeded to throw the plates up in the air.

Olga Pershankova was magnificent as the beautiful Snow White but all of the cast members deserve praise for both their acting and dancing.

My personal favourites were Ekaterina Bokiy-Mintals as Gras and Sergei Smirnov as Fua who brought tremendous humour to their roles in helping Snow White.

Svetlana Kuprina as Altea was one of the star dancers while Valdis Mintals as the Prince made the rink his own with some fantastic spinning moves.

If you love dance and drama, don't miss this magnificent show but do wrap up warm as it got quite cold in the theatre as the night went on. AG
