CONTRACT talk is the hot topic at Kidderminster Harriers in what is likely to be another summer of change.

Aggborough's revolving door seems to have been in over-drive during the past two seasons and a disappointing first season back in the Conference is unlikely to stop it rotating.

Midfielder Russ Penn, utility man Jake Sedgemore and defender Gavin Hurren are the only players contracted to the club for next season.

Boss Mark Yates intends to announce his retained list next week but is sure to want to stamp his own mark on the squad after taking over from Stuart Watkiss earlier this season.

He has hinted in recent weeks that he has been unhappy with some of his current players, especially after last Saturday's poor 3-0 defeat at mid-table Dagenham & Redbridge.

Yates promises to put together a team who will scrap for points and not give away stupid goals when the 2006/07 season kicks-off.

But, ahead of today's final game at home to champions Accrington Stanley, he is keeping his cards close to his chest.

Yates said: "I will sit down with the lads that are here now early next week and tell them whether we want them to stay, but I don't want to say any more about that yet.

"Neil Howarth and I have got a list of targets we want to bring in and we want to make sure we start with the spine of the team.

"We know what we want but it might not happen instantly as a lot of players will be keeping their options open for a while."

n Harriers will hold their end-of-season awards presentation today before the Accrington game.

The clubman of the year, away supporters' player, young player, junior supporters' player and supporters' player will all be rewarded. The presentation begins at 2.40pm.
