AFTER a season of under-achievement, Mark Yates has released seven Kidderminster Harriers players.

The Aggborough club will have a new player between the sticks next season after the manager released both of his goalkeepers -- Daniel Lewis and John Danby.

Club captain Daryl Burgess, midfielders Terry Fleming, Gareth Sheldon and Wayne Graves and forward Lee Thompson have also left the club.

On-loan defender Johnny Mul-lins, who was voted supporters' player of the season, has returned to newly-promoted Reading to see where his future lies.

Yates said: "Due to the disappointing season we've had, I felt it was time for a clear-out and I'm sure some of the players will also benefit from a change of club.

"I'd like to wish them the best for the future.

"Now the hard work of assembling a squad of players capable of challenging at the business end of the Conference begins. Already I have a number of targets in mind and I will be ensuring I do all I can to secure their services."

Midfielders Simon Russell, Mich-ael Blackwood and Michael Mc-Grath have all been offered new deals for next season, along with defender Jonny Harkness and striker Luke Reynolds.

Russell joined the club for the start of the 2004/05 campaign and has made over 60 appearances for Harriers.

Former Stevenage player Blackwood has been offered a second season after impressing during his first year, in which he made more than 30 appearances.

Should Harkness, who joined the club from Walsall in January, accept his new deal, he'll take his place in next season's squad alongside Gavin Hurren, Jake Sedgemore and Russ Penn who are all already under contract at Aggborough.

McGrath and Reynolds have both impressed since joining Kidderminster late in the season on short-term deals.
