KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' football in the community scheme will host a series of football courses for children during the forthcoming half-term.

The courses have a World Cup theme and children will be able to practise some of the great goals from past competitions, win the goalden boot award and play in a mini-tournament.

Skills including Beckham free kicks, Gerrard passing and Rooney power-shooting will also be available.

Children aged five to 14 years of all abilities are welcome.

Each day runs from 10am until 3pm.

Course venues: Malvern, Dyson Perrins High School: Tuesday, May 30, Wednesday, May 31; Worcester, Bishop Perowne High School: Tuesday, May 30, Wednesday, May 31; Droitwich Spa, Chawson First School: Wednesday, May 31, Thursday, June 1; Kidderminster, St John's Middle School: Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2; Bromsgrove, Parkside Middle School: Thursday, June 1, Friday, June 2.

Meanwhile, Harriers community coaches will be holding advanced coaching sessions for outfield players and goalkeepers when their player development centres open in June.

Open to boys and girls aged nine to 16 years, the aim is to provide quality coaching to those players who want to develop their game.

The programme is designed and delivered by UEFA 'A' licence coaches, including ex-professional players.

Course venues: Kidderminster, Baxter College, Mondays, June 5 until July 17, 6-7.30pm; Worcester, Royal National Institute for the Blind College, Thursdays, June 8 until July 22, 6-7.30pm.
