COLWALL I V OLD ELIZABETHANS
COLWALL'S batsmen again distiguished themselves but this time were on the winning side in Saturday's WCL division three south encounter.
After 159no last week, Tom Wolfendale went for a duck when Col-wall were sent in to bat.
At eight overs, they were 42-2 when skipper Pete Butler joined Dave Powell to share an outstanding partnership of 226.
Butler scored 135 (eight sixes, 16 fours) and Powell made 101 (16 fours).
Another fine cameo from Darren Cooke of 50 took the score to 336-5 off 44 overs declared, the third time the team have passed 300 this season.
Colwall attacked from the off, Jordan Kontarines' left-arm fast bowling yielding 5-50 off 21 overs.
Matt King got the last wicket on the fourth ball of the 56th over as Colwall won by 148 runs.
