Worcester Nomads I v Luctonians

A 133-run opening stand between Malcolm Jones (83) and Simon Harris (51) allowed Nomads to chase down a respectable target in WCL division two on Saturday.

Nomads II v Luctonians

Maximum points for Nomads with a convincing six-wicket WCL division two win set up by the bowlers.

On a blistering day, Lucton-ians won the toss and decided to bat. Good opening spells from Ormerod (2-34) and Ranscombe (1-38) removed the top order and then the spin twins of Nic Lloyd (4-46) and James Massey (3-14) took over, Lucs subsiding for 154.

A steady start from Pearson (31) and Dixon (40) laid the foundations, followed up by Leach (23) and Josh Stafford (41no).

Pershore v Nomads III

A SURPRISED Nomads were given first bowl after losing the toss and the attack nipped out Pershore for 95 in this WCL division seven tie at Peopleton.

The visitors' opening bowlers, Nick Williams (6-33) and James Welchman (2-16), had Pershore in trouble at 37-5 off ten overs. J Taylor, aged 13, batted pluckily for 47 and there was 25 for opener P Taylor.

To be fair, the wicket was poor and no batsman could ever feel he was 'in'.

Goodway's 55no was crucial but Nic Lloyd produced a tight four-over spell of 1-19, with J Ingles getting the other wicket.

In the reply, Reg Dixon scored 41 and Humphreys 26no but a regular loss of wickets proved to be the club's downfall, closing at 137-5.

Nomads I XI V Martley

Martley elected to bat in this Sunday match and made 131-9 in just short of 40 overs.

P Ganderton scored 41 and Geoff Taylor took 4-22. In reply, Jon Ingles (51no) and Tom Isaacs (27) posted 55 for the first wicket and, after losing two more wickets, Nomads coasted home by seven wickets in 27 overs, with Dominic Harris 23no.

Nomads II V Ashton Under Hill
