NOT many footballers plying their trade in the Nationwide Conference boast a career that in-cludes playing in the Premiership and Europe, but Kidderminster Har-riers' newest signing does.
Former Newcastle United midfielder Jamie McClen has signed a one-year deal at Aggborough after spen-ding nearly a decade at St James' Park.
The 27-year old, who was captain of United's reserve side, made only 22 appearances for the club before deciding to move on in search of regular first-team football.
He spent a short spell with last season's League Two champions Carlisle United but ended the campaign with Shrewsbury Town, for whom he made four starts after impressing on trial.
He should bring some valuable experience to the Harriers' midfield as a player with a hunger for the ball and a great range of passing, and will do battle with the likes of Jake Sedgemore, Russ Penn and Simon Russell for a place in Mark Yates' first-team.
