EVESHAM United manager Dave Busst was annoyed and frustrated when news of the signing of Paul Williams leaked out last week, writes Mervyn Collins.
The former Premiership star had put pen to paper for his ex-Coventry City teammate after returning from America but made an about turn when his plans of a return to the English game were published.
"The small-mindedness of certain people at the club has prevented a Premiership player turning out for Evesham United," blasted the Common Road chief.
"He would have been playing for us this week. He had signed the forms and gone through the normal procedures but he didn't want his plans made known.
"Ever since the story appeared his phone hasn't stopped ringing and he's very unhappy about it. He was going to help us out for a few matches but I spoke to him again earlier this week and he isn't going to change his mind."
