FROMES Hill Reserves were presented with the fair play award at the annual general meeting of the Soccersite.co.uk Malvern League.

Secretary Joe Whitehouse gave a brief report on the past season, which had seen the title not being settled until the last day when Cross Keys completed the double. They won the Norman Simmons Cup the previous week with Oak Allstars being gallant runners-up on both occasions.

The fact that up to mid-April any of four teams could have won the title, with Bell Inn 98 and Morgan Aero 8's challenge not fading until then, spoke well for the league's future as the level of football was a credit to the league.

David Wise was elected as chairman with Joe Whitehouse agreeing to stay on as secretary following the appointment of four new committee members.

It was announced that The Soccer Site had agreed to continue their sponsorship for next season so the league will continue to be known as thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern League.

President David Gwynne presented the fair play award to Fromes Hill Reserves and the manager of the year award, voted for by the clubs, to Leigh Phillips of Cross Keys.

The leading goalscorer award went to Jamie James, of Oak Allstars, with 61 goals with Andy Lancett, of Keyz 04, being runner-up with 50 goals.

Other high scoring players were: James Dean (Oak Allstars), 44 goals; Chris Grubb (Bell Inn 98), 41 goals; Rob Cullen (Cross Keys), 38 goals; Dan Herbert (Bell Inn 98), 36 goals.

Final team of the month awards went to Ledbury Rangers (April) and Cross Keys (May).
