MALVERN Town made it 12 straight Harvey World Travel Midland Alliance wins and four clean sheets on the trot at Studley on Saturday.

STUDLEY O, MALVERN TOWN 2

Malvern, who have not lost a league game since August 15, remained second in the league table with six games in hand on leaders Quorn and now, just one point behind.

Both sides seemed evenly matched in an end-to-end game full of commitment.

Malvern took a 12th minute lead when Darren Bullock's header from a Nathan Jukes free-kick was only partially cleared to Phil Preedy, whose right foot volley from 18 yards flashed past Ladek in the Studley goal.

Studley gradually got more into the game but Malvern's back four stood firm, with Craig Humphries' contribution in goal once more a major factor, as he brilliantly saved from Johnson and Benjamin.

Dean Roberts and Mark Shepherd both had goal- bound efforts blocked as Malvern finished the half well and near to half-time Bullock's header was tipped over by Ladek.

Malvern were first to threaten in the second-half, Roberts heading over Tomkins' cross then Shepherd rattled the post with a chip over the keeper and Ladek dived bravely to stop Roberts scoring from the rebound.

A flowing move from the home side saw Benjamin miss an open goal from five yards. Studley sent on their three substitutes on 70 minutes but Malvern were in control with Tomkins and Preedy seeing more of the ball.

On 80 minutes Malvern got the all-important second goal when Shepherd rose at the far post to head home a Jukes' corner.

This was another all-round team effort with the back four of Chalmers, Roberts, Burrows and Tomkins outstanding.

Another plus was Dean Robert playing his first game after a long injury to add another string to manager Hunt's bow.
