MALVERN Town lost their 12 match unbeaten Travel Factory Midland Alliance run when they lost to sixth-in-the-table Racing Club Warwick on Tuesday night.

RACING CLUB WARWICK 3, MALVERN TOWN 1

On a very heavy pitch, Malvern were unlucky not to take the lead in the 10th minute when Nathan Jukes hit the upright and saw the rebound kicked away for a corner. However, within a minute Racing Club had raced to the other end and hit the post themselves.

Racing Club took the lead in the 20th minute when following good work from the left to the right, James Wood fired the ball into the net.

Racing Club were worthy of the lead and continued to make chances while Malvern looked as is they were struggling to come to terms with the conditions. Town goalkeeper Craig Humphries brought off a couple of excellent saves.

Unfortunately just as half-time approached, the ball was kicked into the Malvern end by the keeper and James Wood took advantage to make the score 2-0.

The second-half was a reversal of the first with Malvern encamped in the Racing Club half. Both Nathan Jukes and Darren Bullock went to close free-kicks but on the whole, the final ball was not good enough.

Malvern clawed a goal back in the 83rd minute when following a goal-mouth scramble, Dean Roberts scored from eight yards. Malvern continued to press for an equaliser but in the the last minute of normal time Mark Fowlds broke away, for the first time in the half, and scored Racing Club's third goal.

Even then a further goal-mouth scramble occurred with Lee Tomkins and Dean Roberts having their shots cleared off the line.
