FOUR Kingsley College pupils proved they have a way with words after winning a prize in a national poetry competition.
Tom Pedley, Joshua Harvey, Alice Wicker and Hannah Coley made up half of the West Midlands team at the Slam Poetry World Cup 2006 competition at Warwick Arts Centre. Slam poetry combines writing with drama, presentation and public speaking, to make poetry dynamic, accessible and fun.
Judges awarded the West Midlands team the prize for the poem with the best written content. The Kingsley poets were coached by Richard Grant, Poet Laureate for Birmingham for 2005/06.
