INSPIRATIONAL forward Jon Andrews inspired Droitwich RFC to come from behind to beat Worcester Wanderers and book the team's place in the quarterfinals of the North Midlands Shield on Saturday.UNDER PRESSURE: A Droitwich player (white) tries to evade a Worcester tackle.

Droitwich showed spirit and determination to battle back from 16-0 down at half time.

Andrews was key for Droitwich at the Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground, bagging two crucial tries.

In the first half Droitwich were playing against the wind and struggled to get to grips with the game.

Two Worcester penalties saw them trailing 6-0 after Droitwich could not clear the ball away.

Spa's plight was increased after Worcester scored a try, which was converted, from a penalty tap.

Droitwich were unable to launch any attacks and kept kicking possession back to Worcester.

A third penalty left the hosts with a mountain to climb in the second half.

Droitwich made an early breakthrough in the second half. Paul Sweeny won a lineout, which allowed the pack to drive forward and push Andrews over for a try. Simon Pearce completed the conversion.

The try turned the game on its head and Droitwich piled the pressure on their county rivals.

Leon Hopkins' try put Spa within touching distance of the Wanderers, before Matt Blackmore scored two penalties to edge them ahead for the first time.

With a slender lead Droitwich decided to go on the attack and drove Andrews over for a try that sealed a stirring comeback.
