A STUDLEY mum and her daughters who ran the Stratford Race for Life have given heartfelt thanks to everyone who sponsored them.

The Lansdowne Crescent family raised £700 from relatives, friends and work colleagues for Cancer Research UK.

Jeannette Bourne, 44, who dyed her hair pink for the event, said she and her two daughters, Joss-Anne and Jemma-Anne each ran the 5km run in memory of someone close to them.

"I was the only one out of the 2,000 running it who had pink hair. But it was fun and so many supported us that we wanted to say thank you," she said.

"My mum died of cancer and by brother also died of it. Jemma's friend's daughter also died of it so these were the three people we ran for."

Mrs Bourne added that teachers and staff at Studley High School, Moreton Morrell College and members and staff at Springfield Mind had all dug deep.

The three all hope to run again next year and raise more money for the charity.
