BROMSGROVE Olympique cycling group's touring section rode out to Bidford-on-Avon through Broadway. After dinner they took a route home through Evesham and Pershore.

ICY roads did not prevent young Conservatives giving their full support to the third annual Conservative ball at the Tardebigge Country Club. Over 150 young people enjoyed the dancing to Frank Carter's orchestra, which went on until 2am. During the evening, good wishes were received from Mr James Dance MP.

THE match between Bromsgrove Rovers and Bedworth was called off due to heavy snow and a frozen pitch. The decision, which was made at midday on the day of the game, left Rovers with a potential fixture pile-up, with 13 league games still to be played with just 12 Saturdays remaining.

THE Bromsgrove Association of Master Bakers, Confectioners and Caterers held what was believed to be its first ever dinner at the Golden Cross. The event was attended by around 60 members, family and friends of the trade. The toast of The Association was proposed by the national president, Mr OH Burden, who congratulated the Bromsgrove members on having reformed their own organisation after 21 years of alliance with Birmingham.
