A SURPRISE ceremony took place at the Congregation Church in Rubery when the Rev AF Jordan (Minister) was given a birthday cake with one candle. It was a gift in recognition of Mr Jordan's services for one year. The meeting was thrown open to all and the talk by Mr Jordan centred on the meaning of Congregationalism.
BROMSGROVE Olympique riders assembled in the High Street and rode over to Redditch to see the 90 miles massed start road race. The route covered a 15-mile circuit around Redditch. The rest of their day was spent leisurely, with dinner at Alcester, and then stopping by the river in Stratford, before heading home.
A LARGE concourse of young people gathered to 'trip the light fantastic' amid the delightful surroundings of the new Perry Hall ballroom. Organised by local young Conservatives, the gathering proved the most popular and well-attended Conservative dance of the season.
