SCHOLARS attending Sunday schools in Wychbold and Stoke Works, in connection with the Church of St Mary de Wyche, had their annual treat in the Vicarage Field. A fine afternoon was spent playing cricket, rounders and other games. At around five o'clock around 200 children sat down for a tea provided by the Vicar and Miss Male. More games followed and balloons were let off. Votes of thanks were given to the Rev R Male, Mrs Male, the Rev RT Phillips, Miss Amphlet and Mr and Mrs Oyler.

A STOCK sale was held by Messrs Cotton and Chappell, with a large entry of milking cattle. The most useful of the cattle fetched £20 and upwards, while bullocks made £19 5s and heifers were also well sold, fetching £18 7s 6d. Wethers went for up to 56s per head and ewes 52s. There was a smaller entry of pigs than normal, but every head changed hands.

MEMBERS of Cofton Dramatic Society gave their third annual open-air play in Parsonage Gardens. The play chosen for presentation was an old comedy by Mrs Cowley, entitled A Bold Stroke For A Husband. The ladies' dresses were designed by member Mr P Deeley and made by the ladies themselves. The wigs and costumes for the men were supplied by Mr H Astley, of Broad Street, Birmingham.

BARNT Green Cricket Club were defeated at Redditch for the second time that season. The visitors had the advantage of the first innings, but gave a very tame batting display and were all out for 102. F Whitley hit 21, while EG Bigwood made 20. In reply Redditch lost three wickets for 40, and looked to be doing no better than Barnt Green. However, catches were dropped and Redditch won the game, having lost just three wickets.
