Rugby Lions 69 Bromsgrove 7

Midlands Division One

HEAD coach Iain Hall summed up what Bromsgrove will need to improve on after he watched his side torn apart by Midlands Division One leaders Rugby Lions on Saturday.

After witnessing his side's mauling in a nine-try slaughter Bromsgrove's new director of coaching pointed out what areas need to be improved.

He said: "We need to be bigger, faster and better at everything we do.

"We had no answer to Rugby, they were better than us at everything."

Bromsgrove, currently the division's bottom side, went into the game showing signs of improvement, but rampant Rugby tore them to shreds.

Full back Glenn Bond, who scored 24 points, and hat-trick grabbing centre James Hawken were Bromsgrove's chief tormentors throughout the game in Rugby.

Hall tried to take some positives from the game, highlighting James Hinks' performance.

He said: "James is only young but he handled himself well and looked bright.

"But our confidence is very low at the moment and Rugby took advantage of that.

"I'm trying to put in place a structure that will get the best out of the players we have here.

"The danger is they will resort to type when their confidence is knocked."

Hall is hoping experienced Moseley coaches John Keynes and Andy Johnston can make a difference when they help put the first team through their paces in mid-week training.

He said: "They will offer a fresh perspective and give the players something new to listen to.

"There's no doubting that we have to improve."

Tom Churchill may be available for Bromsgrove's home clash against Market Bosworth on Saturday, December 17 (2.15pm start).

Churchill has missed the last few matches because of a flu bout.
