THROUGH the Advertiser/Messenger's Your View may I pass on a huge well done and thanks to the Bromsgrove Carnival organisers for their hard work in making the event a success.

Once again the day was great. A great opportunity for the people of Bromsgrove to come together, have some fun and support a variety of local causes.

But is that it now?

The t-shirts that the organisers wore on the day bore the words - "The carnival is over."

Do the people of Bromsgrove realise that? The committee from the hospital are no longer organising the gala at the park and the carnival organisers, Jeff and Jules Evans, are calling an end to their successful time. Is everyone out there happy about that?

Does it give us another day when we can hide ourselves away and forget we belong to a community?

I, for one, hope that the carnival is not over. However, it takes more than one hope to make anything happen. If anyone out there would like to contact me by calling 01527 879578, I would be happy to organise a meeting to see if the carnival could still continue.

What is the phrase? Many hands make light work. Perhaps many hands (and heads) could make a carnival tradition continue.
