DEFENDER Joe Williams was the biggest winner at Bromsgrove Rovers' awards evening, taking home two awards.

Williams was voted player of the season by the fans and player's player of the season.

He pipped Mark Benbow and popular defensive kingpin Exodus Geohaghan for the fans' award by a handful of votes.

Joe said: "I am very proud to have won these awards.

"It's always great to come into the club after a game and hear fans say nice things about you."

Right back Matt Johnson was named the Advertiser/Messenger's player of the season after a consistent campaign.

Geohaghan won the player of the season award voted each week by fans on the club's website forum.

Midfielder Wayne Dyer's brilliant 35-yard curling screamer against Ashford Town was named goal of the season and reserve team player Habib Bauben was named Rovers' young player of the season.

Reserve team secretary Ron Mellor accepted the Ashley Read Memorial Trophy on behalf of Bauben, who was unable to attend.

Physiotherapist Steve Ball was given the non-playing clubman of the year award.

Midfielder regular Mark Benbow was given a special award after making his 250th appearance for the club, while winger Kevin Banner also received one for playing 199 time for Rovers.
