THE nine regional winners of the Local Heroes competition to find the top bands of tomorrow have been selected.
A total of 20,000 votes were cast in the competition, backed by Newsquest Media Group, owners of the Shuttle/Times & News.
The final nine bands will battle it out at London's Islington Academy tonight where a panel of industry experts will select two bands to go on a fully managed tour of festivals throughout the UK this summer.
The regional winners were IST (Leicester, Midlands), Broadwalk ( London), Brabazon (Wales), Flame Grilled Chinchillas (South West), Kalinsky (North East), Estrella (Scotland), Merla (Yorkshire), Rob McCulloch (North West) and Intervurt (South East).
