A 26-year-old Bewdley man is to face trial at Worcester Crown Court on charges of assault and attempting to pervert the court of justice.
Jason Lester, of Kidderminster Road, Bewdley, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Kevin Mattinson on October 25 last year causing him actual bodily harm.
He also denied making a false claim of assault against Mr Mattinson and causing Sarah Jones to give a false statement.
He was remanded on bail for a trial date to be fixed.
