RESIDENTS in the two counties have a chance to re-invent retirement by taking part in the biggest ever survey on the subject.

More than 11 million copies of the Have Your Say questionnaire have been distributed across the UK by Heyday to get people to give their views on issues such as work, ageism, family life and pensions.

Local organiser for Heyday, Jim Smith, said: "We want to hear their views and make sure that this generation's voice will be heard.

"For the first time in history there are now 20 million people in the UK over 50 and more people aged over 60 than there are under 16.

"They invented the teenager and the internet and now they are re-inventing modern retirement."

Residents can get their questionnaires by contacting Jim Smith at jamessmith@heydaymail.org.uk or go to www.heyday.org.uk before Monday, July 31.

Those who fill out a questionnaire should quote GKBF8 to designate opinions to the area.

Heyday is a non-profit membership organisation for people who are planning for or are in retirement.
