AN evening bus route that was stopped when a driver was assaulted is now back on the road.
The 57/58 evening service, which follows the Matchborough Circular route, had to be stopped in July after a spate of antisocial behaviour towards drivers.
But measures to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers have now been put in place and the evening service resumed on Monday.
Worcestershire County Council teamed up with police and operator Birmingham Coach Company to put measures in place including CCTV, police officer support and improved measures for drivers such as cab shields.
County council development manager Emilie van de Graaff said: ''It is always extremely disappointing when well-used and appreciated services are put in jeopardy because of the anti-social behaviour of the minority.
''It is great news that we have been able to work so closely with the police and the operator to put these improved measures in place.''
